Canterbury's oldest and most established angling club
Canterbury Anglers Club was founded in 1949, making us one of the oldest angling clubs in New Zealand. We were established by a group of passionate Canterbury fishers who wished to share their love of the sport and protect the outstanding fishing rivers and lakes of the Canterbury region.
Today, the club continues to thrive with members from all walks of life who share a passion for fishing in Canterbury’s world-class freshwater environments. From the braided rivers of the Waimakariri and Rakaia to the crystal-clear high-country lakes of the Ashburton District, we have access to some of the finest trout and salmon fishery in New Zealand.
Our three lodges , at Cass, Lake Clearwater, and South Rakaia; provide members with comfortable, well-equipped bases for their fishing adventures.
